  THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM
  THE EARLY FCUKTARD AND HIS MOM GETS A LAPTOP FOR $500.

  
  

        Yup.  I get a call from my aunt at 5o’clock in the morning telling me that there was a 6 hour sale at BUST BUY.  The thing that enticed me was that there was a laptop that was on sale for $500.  My uncle then picked up my mom and me and we headed off to the BB in Frisco, where my aunt’s sister was waiting for us.
        She had gotten the paper for the laptop, so i was guaranteed one.  Toshiba Satellie A15, 2.4Ghz celery w/ 256MB RAM, 30GB harddrive and so fourth.  Now the wait begins.  6:45AM im in line for the laptop, a line that wasn’t too long.  But, they did the same procedures as if it was just any ordinary day.  So with their supply of 120 or so computers, they allowed ppl do upgrade and what not, further extending the time that we had to stand in line.  What was even worse was that 3 hours later their credit card system went DOWN, so they had to manually call in each and every credit card for authorization.
  

  
  

  We finally get out of there around 12 after making a $1800 dent in my mom’s pocket.  But after rebates, here are the costs:

  • Microsoft WI-FI notebook card: $70

  But the sad thing about this is that my dad was NOT willing to drive us back.  But im not mad at him, cuz he works nights and needed his sleep.  So we had to take MUNI home.  Being on MUNI, with a shitload of stuff, expensive stuff for that matter, isnt cool.  We got hecka stares from people, especially on the 9x [if you know which bus that is then you know what i mean].  But sister forgot her keys so she was waiting for us at West Portal.  One more person to carry the crap home .

  
  

  
  FORMAT FORMAT FORMAT.
        You guys probably know how anal i am when it comes to my computer installs.  After building computers, this was my first COMPANY computer, and i just realized why i hated them.  There was no instructions as to how to get into the BIOS, so i had to press hecka keys to get a “key error” to get into the BIOS.  Changed the settings to boot from CD-rom first.  Formatted harddrive, then installed my version of winxp.  I needed to have winxp pro/office xp/nero.  I did NOT want xp HOME/ MS word/ and wtv cd writing software as well as all the BUNDLED crap that just slows down the computer.  took me an hour or two to set up, but then I now have it the way i like it. 

  
  

  Thoughts:
        My mom keeps persisting that she’ll pay for the laptop/LCD/WIFI card [the stuff that's mine].  However, I refuse to let her.  My sister claims that its all male “pride”, but iono, to me i’d just feel bad makin my mom pay for it.  Hell, the last few computers i made i paid with by myself.  Why change tradition, right?  Iono, it might be pride it might not be, who knows… what do you guys think?

  
  

        Sisters been sick for the first 3 days of this 4 day weekend.  I fell pretty bad, cuz i know shes sick, but theres nothing that i can do about it to make her feel better.  And the doctors at Kaiser are pretty shitty too.  they were like: “im not too sure on what it is, but if you start coughin up mucus, take these antibiotics.”  Dude, at Kaiser i swear you wait longer in the waiting room than you do chattin w/ the doctor in the patient room.

  Gonna be out this afternoon again for an early b-day buffet thingy for my g’ma.  Wow.. 96<-?  and counting.  Which leaves me with 1 day to do major catch-up.  Still need to fix up my essay for english, then find 5 sources for the current essay, read em and respond to em.  got the stupid mathXL hw, got stuff for first year business, and CRAP, got the TV analysis paper for BECA to write thats supposed to be 5-7pages..aiyah.  bleh. fudge.
